Ideas for a Memorable Labor Day Weekend | Park Place BMW in Rochester, MN

Labor Day Weekend 2015 is right around the corner, so many people are trying to make plans for their 3-day weekend. Some are perfectly happy using that time to relax and rest at home; however, many more are looking to spend their weekend doing something different and fun with friends and loved ones.

If you’re still looking for that weekend activity for the holiday weekend, here are some ideas for what to do during Labor Day Weekend.

Go camping.

Even if you aren’t a camping kind of person, consider getting into the great outdoors for the weekend! Borrow or purchase some equipment and head out to one of the nearby campsites in the Rochester area.

Pinterest is an amazing resource for camping recipes. You can make almost anything out in the open wilderness as long as you have the right tools and a good recipe. You can also use Pinterest to find some “camping hacks” to make your time outdoors even easier and more enjoyable.

If camping just isn’t an option, consider going to a campsite for a day with friends and family and cooking and spending time together as if you were going camping, but then pack up your stuff and go home and sleep in your own bed.

Throw a Labor Day party.

Use the last holiday of the summer as an excuse to throw a huge party for whomever you want – neighbors, family, friends and/or coworkers. Give everyone even more reason to celebrate all of their hard work and well-earned day off.

Labor Day parties are synonymous with barbeque, but that doesn’t mean you have to spend a ton of money on an entire rack of ribs for every guest. Mix up the menu by offering a wide variety of main dishes, like hot dogs, sliders, chicken and even pasta. Pinterest can also be a great resource here; just type in “Labor Day party ideas” and be prepared to peruse thousands of amazing ideas to make your party memorable.

Just because you’re the one throwing a party doesn’t mean you have to do all of the work. Make it a potluck and put others in charge of bringing some food. Then you won’t have to spend as much time or money on food and your friends can have the opportunity to show off that one dish they make really well for parties.

There is an endless number of things to do during a 3-day weekend. But no matter what you do, use that time to spend with the ones you love and appreciate the time you have to spend together!

Park Place BMW wishes you a safe and memorable Labor Day weekend!
